My next self-funded business hit $160,000 in revenue in its first year alone. After that first taste of self-made success, I’ve gone on to sign consulting contracts worth tens of thousands of dollars with startups like LinkedIn and Google, launch profitable online courses, and build a following of hundreds of thousands for this blog and my podcast series.
Infomercials that promise quick and easy riches online oversimplify the realities of the e-commerce marketplace. Dave Espino's "Auctions for Income," a book and DVD training program that promises to teach customers how to make easy money selling on eBay, has received an F rating by the Los Angeles Better Business Bureau for making "unfounded" promises of large sums of money to be made with minimum effort [source: Better Business Bureau]. Jeff Paul's "Shortcuts to Internet Millions," another program that promises income in the hundreds of thousands per week through Internet sales and marketing, has also received an F from the BBB [source: Better Business Bureau]. There are legitimate trainers and consultants who will help you set up an online store on eBay or elsewhere, but they don't make such grand promises.

I also use InboxPounds, a site where you earn for web searching, completing surveys, doing small tasks, reading emails, playing games, and more. I use InboxPounds for searching, instead of using Google, and earn money for each completed search. You can also visit the site for offers a few times a week and complete tasks. You can cash out using Paypal as well.
The average bid is $80, so obviously I´m pretty committed to give the best advice I can. We promptly find ourselves in the Messaging System, like a private instant chat email type thing. The person starts asking questions, I start answering them, throwing in a few suggestions of my own, and voilà! There are a whole bunch of reasons why I love the job, so maybe I´ll just beat ´em out in bullet points.
If it’s not clear yet, information and expertise are two of the most consistent and lucrative ways to make extra money online. If you don’t like talking on the phone, you can sign up to get paid to answer professional questions on JustAnswer. There are thousands of questions being asked every month from people looking for help from lawyers, doctors, mechanics, vets, and more. To apply, you’ll need to supply your professional verification, resume, and a form of identification.

Is there a product or service that you are particularly enthusiastic about? If you are, you may be able to develop a website that is built around selling it. You don’t have to be the actual provider of the product or service either. There are many businesses that offer these products and will allow you to sell them on an affiliate basis. For example, you may be able to sell a product on your website for a commission of 20% or 30% of the sale price.

Robo-advisors are diversified investment accounts that are automatically managed by a computer algorithm (as opposed to a human money manager). If you want to invest, but don’t have the money, or don’t want to invest with a money manager, robo-advisors are for you! Robo-advisors make investing easier—and cheaper—so they’re perfect for new investors.
25. Products – You can create your own product, such as an ebook or computer software. You would then use your blog as a promotion tool to get people to buy your product. As long as you create a legitimate product with a whole lot of value, you should be able to get some buyers, but like everything else with a blog, you’ll need the traffic to get the sells.

Take good pictures. Some of the options below don’t require you to actually take the picture and sell the product, but for the ones that do, make sure you take a clear picture that makes your product stand out from the others.  If you’re going to be taking a lot of pictures, set up a small “studio-like” area in your home with a backdrop and proper lighting to really make your pictures come across as professional. And of course, you’ll want a good camera too.

I’ve done webinars to promote my financial planning practice and to drum up interest in my online course for financial advisors. With a webinar, you’re basically offering a lot of tips and advice for free — usually in a live format. At the end though, you pitch your paid product or service with the goal of securing a few deals.
